 Race History

As Beyond Outrageous was only just purchased in September 2002 with the 2003 Osaka Cup Race being the target there was not a lot of time for competive sailing before the event. However in the couple of local races completed before Osaka the boat performed well.

These races were The Navigators Dash, a 200 NM timed dash across Bass Straight where Beyond recorded third fastest time. Comepitorrs in this race included yachts such as Scandia - Wildthing and Indec Merit.

Beyond was then slipped for five weeks while modifications were carried out in preparation the Osaka Cup race. Modifations included a new keel, rudder, sugar scoop and hull stiffening. Her first sea trial after the modifications was the Melbourne to Geelong race in Late January where she recorded ninth over the line (250+ boat fleet) and a credible 8th on handicap.

In the short time since the yacht has returned to Australia from Osaka(Oct 2003) it has recorded some impressive performances competing back in the local scene.

The history thus far has been short but sweet.
